food, glorious food...!
All
meals are served at Waterholes Guest
House and are one of our main attractions.
Each meal is prepared with the food
preferences of our guests in mind.
Fresh local produce is a feature of
the menu and as East Gippsland’s
wonderful fish, beef and vegetables
are right on our doorstep quality
and flavour is assured. Seasonal herbs
and greens are provided from our own
garden and delicious fresh fruits
come from nearby orchards.
Waterholes is a BYO establishment, so please bring your own favourite beverages.
“The only
essential item to take is your favourite
wine (a local one is offered), otherwise
everything is provided and Kaye’s
a wonderful cook.
“On our
weekend, she whipped up a breakfast
of freshly squeezed orange juice,
home-made Bircher muesli, and coddled
eggs flavoured with Brie and bacon:
lunchtime brought pumpkin risotto
and salad greens from the vege patch;
and dinner included fresh asparagus
with tarragon butter followed by a
grilled steak and beautifully braised
vegetables, then a dessert of pear
and almond cake.” — Jane Faulkner. Food and wine
writer. Featured in The Age, Good
Weekend 2005, 52 Weekends Away.
“We would
like to thank you for helping make
our visit to Waterholes Guest House
very special. The meals were outstanding
both in content and presentation.
We loved the room with it's great
outlook and the peace and quiet, the
bath with it’s outlook was ideal for
laying back and relaxing. The interesting
walks on your property, the tubing
down the river and the fact that we
could forget about the car for three
days all combined to make our stay
very enjoyable and relaxing. Roger
and I will be back for another dose
of 'R & R'. Thank you for allowing
us to share your paradise.”—
Jill Parker.
